8th grade is beginning a Science Fiction unit. Students will be reading a variety of science fiction stories, understanding the elements of science fiction, and writing their own science fiction stories.
Also, each day in class the students have 10-15 minutes to read a book of their choice. Ask your child what they are reading during this time. Many students choose novels, but some enjoy reading magazines. We are always trying to add to our classroom library if you have any reading material at home you would like to donate!
The number one way to become a better reader is to READ, READ, READ!
